1928 - 10 ½ x 13 ½ Photographer “Russell Ball” borderless double weight photo, Signed and inscribed by silent film actor George Fawcett,
“To Dear wonderful Madam Schumann-Heink, this carries with it what all the world gives to you, Great love and adoration – George Fawcett – Hollywood Sept. 16th – 28”.
(Ernestine Schumann-Heink was an Austrian-American operatic dramatic contralto)
Fawcett’s inscription and signature are in black fountain pen. The photo is also signed in white ink in the lower right corner, “Ball”, for photographer Russell Ball.
Blue handstamp on verso, “Photo Credit – RUSSELL BALL”.
Fine with an older 1-inch repaired tear to the left mid edge. Lower left corner small handling tears. Overall silvering to the dark sections of the photo. Silvering is an age related, hazy sheen to the emulsion caused by silver particles used in the original photographic printing process. Otherwise, a rare, signed oversized photo worthy of display.
