1957 - 4 x 5 double weight photo, signed “Best Wishes Judy Holliday” in blue ink.
Comes with the original postally used envelope canceled on Feb. 14, 1957. The envelope is also signed, in blue ink, in the return address by Judy Holliday.
She has crossed out the “Columbia Pictures’ printed return address and written in “Shubert Theater, 44th St. N.Y.C.”. Small opening tear through the “d” of Holliday in return address.
Judy was staring in the Broadway musical, “Bells are Ringing”, at the Shubert. the play for which she won a Tony award.
In essence, two Judy Holliday signatures. Fine and uncommon.
Bio: Judy Holliday (1921–1965) was an American actress, comedian, and singer best known for portraying a "dumb blonde" persona despite her high intellect. A versatile performer, she won an Academy Award for her role in the 1950 film Born Yesterday and a Tony Award for the 1956 Broadway musical Bells Are Ringing. Her career was cut short by breast cancer at age 43.
