Bio: Bruce Bennett (born Harold Herman Brix) (1906-2007) was an American Olympic athlete and film actor who won a silver medal in the 1928 Olympic shot put competition, later appearing in films using both his birth name Herman Brix and his adopted name Bruce Bennett. After an injury ended his Olympic aspirations, he starred as Tarzan in the 1935 serial The New Adventures of Tarzan under his original name, before rebranding as Bruce Bennett in the 1940s to become a leading man at Warner Bros. His prolific career included memorable roles in films like Mildred Pierce (1945), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), and Sudden Fear (1952), and he retired from acting in the 1960s to become a successful businessman.
