Typed Letter Signed on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet on “Warner Bros. Inc” letterhead. Dated to June 22, 1972. This letter was written during pre-production for the film, “The Exorcist”. Signed as “Billy” in felt tip pen. Friedkin is thanking Lydia Wilen for “Sending the make–up notes. Also, for all your help.”. Friedkin continues… “I’ve told dave that I would be very pleased if you would stay with the picture…” he continues, “I hope that Dave can come up with something that will be acceptable to you.”.
Due to other commitments, Lydia was unable to take a job with production. Fascinating, behind the scenes look at pre-production on perhaps the greatest modern horror film, A full year and a half before its theatrical release. Very fine.
