Laurel, Stan & Hardy, Oliver - 1953 Signed 3 ½ x 5 ½ Photo
3 ½ x 5 ½ signed photo from their famous 1953 tour of Great Britain and Ireland.
Signed in black ink along the left side, next to his image by Stan Laurel who has also added the "Hello Dorothy!" at the top. The Laurel signature is ever so slightly faded. Not a major sticking point, but I must point it out.
Oliver Hardy has signed in blue ink along the right side, next to his image. His signature is bold.
This photo, as most from this Laurel and Hardy tour, shows some slight silvering which affects the neck and creases of Laurel’s jacket. It can also be witnessed in the left edges of the black of their hats. Not pronounced, if you look under magnification you’ll see it.
It was explained to me that silvering is caused in the photo development process with the acid that was used. This is a normal occurrence for this series. I’ve yet to see one that doesn’t show this natural effect. Other wise fine.
