December 2, 1943, one page TLS on a 7 ¼ x 10 3/8 twice folded, printed letterhead sheet.
Content is to a fan who has asked if Mr. Lewis would sign his copy of his 1935 book, “It Can't Happen Here”. Sinclair Lewis refers to the title as, “Can’t Happen”.
Signed nicely in black steel tip pen, “Sinclair Lewis”. As mentioned, two typical mailing folds.
Comes with the original 1943 postmarked transmittal envelope, which has Sinclair Lewis’s monogram and address printed on the verso. Very fine.
